In general, audit is a form of check to ensure that the auditee’s company or work is in compliance with the relevant regulations. Often, audits are usually the final step to awarding the company with the certification. Findings depending on their severity level will have to be followed up in a timely manner.

Mandatory Audit

As defined by WSH Act, there are types of workplace that require mandatory audits. Each of these workplace differ by the regularity of the audit.

On top of that, they are required to implement a safety and health management system (SHMS), including risk assessments and risk management.

What is a safety and health management system?

A safety and health management system (SHMS) is a systematic process for managing workplace safety and health. The system features:

  • Setting goals
  • Planning
  • Measuring performance
  • Managing commitments and direction
